We went to a breakfast at a park in a town called Carver. It was a nice breakfast. You could tell it was our Church Breakfast because all the women over 20 years of age were wearing capris and cap sleeve shirts. No shorty shorts or tank tops for these modest gals. Which is good.
It was great to get to know some new people who we may or may not see at church on Sundays. There was one woman, Kristin Green, who knew who I was before I knew who she was. She remember me because I said that "My name is Lisa Amott. It rhymes with a swear word." So... I will be remembered...at least for a sense of humor about my name.
Then I took a really long nap. I am 41 years old. I have not been sleeping for three years now. It is so fun. I wish that I could hook up a video camera in my brain so that I could be able to recall all the really great things I think about at night when I am awake. I solve all the world's problems and am very creative in my ideas about life. But when I wake up...the ideas are gone. I even think of really great things to post on my blog. But, alas....
We invited some of our church members and some of our neighbors over for homemade ice cream and then to watch the fireworks. It was a really nice evening. A guy from our church was a teacher of our neighbor's daughter and so they talked and laughed and got to know each other as just people.
The fireworks were beautiful. We could see Lake Waconia's and another town's fireworks. They were a lot smaller and just above the horizon. They looked like beautiful dead dandilions in the sky.

Sounds a lot like our 4th! I love the part about capris and cap sleeves, we are kind of an odd bunch. Do you think when we are in large groups we stand out as much as the polygamists ladies in their long dresses? Elisabeth says she misses you... which is kind of funny since she probably wouldn't see you anyway with school out!
Nice post. You are a good writer Lisa! And, dare I say, a natural-born blogger. I too loved the capri/cap sleeve women comment. I have never thought about it before, but it is the summer uniform for LDS women. I too wish I could capture what you dream about. I'll bet it's fun and crazy. I love the pic of you and Kelly. And, if he's "wooing" you again - ENJOY it you deserve it!!! Take care Lisa and keep the posts coming.
