Olympics

I DID NOT WATCH ANY OF THE OLYMPICS ON TELEVISION OR INTERNET. I DID NOT GET EXCITED ABOUT THEM. Maybe that makes me an un-earthling. I think it was the whole China thing. I have nothing against Chinese people. I am against their government. I am also against Bush and Cheney. Does that make me un-american. I wonder who will win this next election and how things in America will change. Okay, so the thought running through my head after I typed that last sentence was in a stoopid Chinese accent and in my brain sounded like, "I wonder who will win this next erection..."

We spent over $200.00 getting the kids their school supplies. They are not supplied by the schools. It could be worse. I heard about someone in Chicago who had to buy school supplies AND books and spent over $800.00. School for my kids starts on September 2 and it will be very strange to have a quiet house for more than a couple of hours.

There was a storm this morning about 5:00 a.m. that was a lot of lightning and thunder. It woke all of us up. The lightning was beautiful, the thunder was loud and scary. We have needed the rain, though. It is nice, though, to not be in a constant emergency drought situation - like Utah. It is about 70 + degrees here today. Slight breeze.

I love a summer thunder shower - nothin' better. Wish we would have one.

We LOVE the Olympics at our house. I'm kind of glad it's over so we can go to bed on time instead of staying up late watching. My favortie event (seriously) synchronized swimming. Awesome - couldn't stop watching it.

I was with you on the Olympics, I thought why should we give a country the opportunity to represent what's best in this world, when they don't even let there people be free. BUT I found myself pulled in, I was so impressed that although times are rocky those athletes are so proud to represent the United States! And I was also amazed by the tiny countries who have to give so much to send their athletes... anyways...

Ok, school is soooo weird without Brannon there! I hate going through the day and not hearing "Hey Meg!"
Have fun at your new school Brannon!
P.S. I couldn't stop watching Michael Phelps swim. IT'S AMAZING!

I didn't watch a ton, but did some. Got sick of Michael Phelps. He is a good swimmer though.

I haven't had to buy any school supplies. They said they had everything they needed. Kinda crazy! It was a first!

I didn't watch any olympics either!!! I don't really know why- well... I'm really busy with the boys, I didn't really know they were coming, and i don't know, i just wasn't into it this year. whatever.

I watched some Olympics, but wasn't too excited about it. It would have been nice to see other medals ceremonies where the USA won, besides Michael Phelps. He's all they showed. We won lots of medals but you never saw anyone else (many of whom I think are much more humble than he is). I'm happy for the guy but there were hundreds of other athletes there who worked just as hard to get there. Ok. Whew. That was a mouthful. I'm done. :)

P.S. You are NOT un-American! One of the GREAT things about America is you are entitled to your opinion. Everyone can think and feel and believe the way they want to about anything and it's ok. We don't have to be little cookie-cutter people who look the same and think the same. It is absolutely ok for people to be different from each other. Our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves if we were any other way. Like, say, China? Oops, did I say that out loud? Nothing against the Chinese people, mind you, but their government is a little off...then again, whose isn't?
