Women of Today

I went to the Minnesota Women of Today convention yesterday. Lots of women...different backgrounds, sizes, hair styles, etc. Lots of good information.

I was one of the recipients of a Medallion Award. It is given by the the State President of Women of Today. This is what some wonderful women in the Eden Prairie Chapter said about me.

"This chapter president can talk up Women of Today with the best of them. She's an incredible speaker and can answer Women of Today questions easily. Which is no small feat, as she joined Women of Today just 3 months ago. She is leading her new chapter with enthusiasm and ideas, encouraging district and state involvement and is ensuring that the Waconia chapter starts and continues strong. Waconia and District 11 is especially proud of Lisa Amott."

I was sitting, listening to these nice things, thinking "what a great person that sounds like. She sounds amazing." Then they said my name and I just sat there, stunned.

I don't feel like that person most of the time. I try to do good things and be a good person. But everyone has greatness in them time and again. I am humbled by my award and the love and friendship that has been shown to me.

All of those women have a lot to live up to now that you are part of that organization. They see you as the great example that you are. That is why you are the oldest in our family. Congratulations! What a great honor.

Wow! That is awesome - especially after leading a group for only 3 months! Congrats on your award. :)
